This decision will provide an important precedent for understanding when services have to be notified to the Authority for Television On Demand (ATVOD). Then on January 18 this year, in a landmark ruling, Ofcom backed a decision by the industry regulator ATVOD that three Viacom companies were responsible for their own content on the Virgin Media platform. These decisions provide an important precedent for understanding when services have to be notified to ATVOD.
