*520  $aThe recent trend of the Indian judiciary has been to give protection to sports content under the umbrella of copyright through broadcast reproduction rights. This article examines the copyrightability of sports content, looking first at the copyright of sports content in the United States and then at copyrightability of sports content in India, including a critical assessment of a recent decision of the Delhi High Court. The author argues that sports content does not meet the originality reguirement in copyright law.
