Huomautus sisällöstä, tiivistelmä tms. This article investigates the dysfunction between choreographers and copyright. The choreographer's copyright dilemma is principally caused by the ontological instability of dance works as "fixation" is a prerequisite for establishing copyright status. The situation is exacerbated by the entrenched oral tradition adopted in the stating and restaging of dance works and the lack of universal dance notation system exacerbates the choreographer's problems. Other prerequisites or "thresholds" set by the law that can prevent acess to copyright "citizenship" will also be explored.
