In order to strengthen its fight against online piracy, a German record label was successful in imposing a duty to react on a registrar in the event of a manifest breach of a copyright on the website of one of their clients. Usually, liability is imputed to the web hosts, internet service providers (ISPs) or the search engines. Henceforth, the film and music industries may also elect to trigger the liability of the registrar.
