Huomautus sisällöstä, tiivistelmä tms. Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, have become a hot topic as creators seek to capitalise on the novel use of blockchain technology. Examples from the music industry include Grimes’ digital art collection, Mike Shinoda’s release of a “digitally autographed MP3” and the Kings of Leon auction of various NFTs and release of an album as an NFT. In light of low compensation from digital streaming of content, many artists seem to be viewing NFTs as a valuable new revenue stream. This article examines some contractual and IP considerations that might arise when NFTs are exploited in the entertainment industries.
